This weekend, Littlefield will play host to the first ever Brooklyn Indie Music Fest. The three-day-long concert series will feature dozens of local independent musicians on two stages.
It looks like there will be a decent variety of genres represented throughout the festival, with DJs, singer-songwriters, rock bands, folk acts and hip-hop groups.
Bubble Geese will be performing a set on Friday night. The Brooklyn hip-hop duo have an affinity for 90s culture and a bouncy East Coast sound. The festival describes them as “a mix between Ghostface and The Golden Girls.” Take a gander at their video for the song Christian Slater to get a feel for their sound:

The Ramblers will take the stage on Saturday afternoon, and if you are into Southern-style rock n roll, this is a not-to-be-missed set. They’ve got a bluesy, almost country-like sound that’s sure to inspire some ho-down-esque dance moves. Think Springsteen meets Skynyrd with an edge. Check out their song Leave a Letter Behind:

Aaron Comess, who is best known as the drummer for the Spin Doctors, will be performing on Sunday afternoon. In additions to his work with the popular 90s band, he has released his own solo instrumental material, putting out Catskills Cry and Beautiful Mistake, as well as working with other musicians and recording and producing at his own His House Studio. Wyatt, who perform Sunday night, started as the solo project of singer-songwriter Maddy Wyatt, then grew and expanded to include her brothers Alex and Paul Wyatt, plus keyboardist Dana Haynes and bassist Zach Lane. They’ve got a pop-filled and almost-folk-like rock sound that aims to make you dance yourself silly. Check out Leonah below:
The Brooklyn Indie Fest runs this weekend, September 16-18 at Littlefield (622 Degraw Street, between 3rd and 4th Avenues). A three-day pass is $55 and each individual day is $23.
