The First Thanksgiving

By

This Saturday is 61 Local‘s first-ever Thanksgiving Holiday Party, which is really a day-long fundraiser with all the fixin’s in honor of Carlo Scissura, a good friend and supporter, who also happens to be running for 2013’s Brooklyn Borough President. Carlo has remained an unfailing advocate of 61, so they’d like to recognize all the help he’s given them and other local artisans in a big way. The celebration starts at 1pm with a $15 feast (duck fennel sausage from Brooklyn Cured, pickles from Brooklyn Brine, Pugliese bread from Bien Cuit and a pint of any Brooklyn-made craft beer) and a raffle from local producers like Red Hook Winery, Saxelby Cheese Mongers, Brooklyn Soda Works, Cut Brooklyn, Mast Brothers Chocolate and more, who will all be in the house. Carlo will make an appearance between 6-8 for a meet and greet, and from 8-10, pints of Brooklyn-made brews are $4. It’s a cornucopia of food, friends, and thanks, and it’s happening at 61 Local, 61 Bergen Street.
