Laura Leebove, who curates our BB Songs series, is a music expert and a self-taught home cook who has been blogging about her two passions at Eating the Beats: A Music Junkie’s Guide to Cooking for the past year. This Tuesday, she’s throwing a first anniversary party for the site from 7-9pm at Pine Box Rock Shop. In addition to free vegan treats, including cookies made from a recipe discovered in Kurt Cobain’s journals, a special cocktail devised by Jocelyn Mackenzie of Brooklyn’s own Pearl and the Beard will be available. The band, who recently covered Bon Iver’s “Re: Stacks” for us and is playing Music Hall of Williamsburg on February 16, will be on hand to play a guest DJ set as well.
