Foodie Frolic

This Saturday, take a crash course in all the things a responsible foodie needs to know at the Brooklyn Food Conference. The Brooklyn Food Coalition has pulled together an almost-overwhelming lineup of speakers, workshops, and demos, including talks by Lucas Benitez, the co-director of the Coalition of Immokalee Workers, an awesome labor rights organization; Councilwoman Letitia James; as well as cooking demos from borough-spanning CSA Local Roots NYC, and Nate Courtland from iCi Restaurant. Over 175 (!!!) workshops are planned, on topics like fracking, NYC food policy, farmworker justice, and way, way more. In keeping with its social justice roots, all of that learning is totally free.
