On Saturday, July 28 we’ll be hanging out in Bushwick all day for our fourth and final Immersion of the summer with our pals at Brooklyn Brewery. And we gotta say, this might just be the best one yet.
Get your self-guided bar crawl and photo safari started at Tradesman or Pine Box Rock Shop. Beginning at noon, we’ll be handing out Immersion cards outside both locations, where you can also enjoy your first complimentary Brooklyn beer of the day. Or, escape the crowd and travel on to Miles or to Pearl’s Social and Billy Club for more Brooklyn beers on us. Make sure to come out at noon though–there are only 500 cards and it’s one-per-person, first come, first served. (RSVP on Facebook for updates and follow @brooklynbased and @brooklynbrewery–we’ll be tweeting things like how many cards are left and when they run out, so if you wake up late you can gauge your chances of snagging one.)
If you need to ease into a day of drinking, check out our three awesome beer-brunch locations. The Anchored Inn will be offering a complimentary bottle of Brooklyn Lager to each bruncher/luncher (their menu is more burgers and fries than pancakes and eggs), and Northeast Kingdom and Brooklyn Fire Proof East will both be pouring glasses of Local One to go along with their brunch menus. (Brunch at Northeast Kingdom ends at 3pm, so head there early.)
At 4pm the afterparty starts at Tandem, where everyone is invited, card or not, for $3 Brooklyn beers until 6pm, and a slideshow of photos from our Instagram photo safari. We’ll be awarding prizes from Snapstagram, Brooklyn Brewery, and Better Than Jam to the first few who snap all the iconic spots around the neighborhood, based on clues on the Immersion cards. We’ll lead you to awesome street art, delicious food, and local galleries.
You’ll also want a card to redeem deals throughout the day at some of the best spots for snacks and shopping. Arancini Brothers will be offering two Sicilian rice balls for $6 from 4pm (when they open) to 6pm; at Arepera Guacuco you’ll get a free coconut shake when you buy an arepa, and at Shops at the Loom, many of the shops will be offering discounts, including Better Than Jam (15% off), Kave Espresso Bar (buy one espresso drink or coffee, get one free), Brooklyn Yarn Cafe (25% off merchandise and select classes), and Nouveaux View (10% off).
Roberta’s is also throwing a huge block party on Saturday with even more Bushwick businesses, food, drinks, bands and a pizza guitar. If you’ve got the stamina you can double purpose–come to the Immersion, lay down a solid base of brunch, explore the neighborhood, and get your afternoon drink on, then finish up at the Bushwick Block Party, which goes till midnight. It’ll be a perfect day for biking, so long as you can still get on one by the end.
See you in Bushwick on July 28! Ironic t-shirt, beard and oversized glasses totally optional.
