There’s only one way to bounce back from a Mint Julep binge on Derby Day, and that’s with tequila and tacos on Cinco de Mayo. Roberta’s is whipping out the frozen margarita machine and popping up a tiki bar in the backyard for its celebration from 2-9pm. Staring at 5pm, Taco Santo is celebrating with traditional Cinco de Mayo dishes like Pozole, Tacos de Barbacoa and Puerco in Mole Poblano, and $5 margaritas all night. Chavela’s is getting the party started early–they’ll be celebrating Friday through Monday with three specially priced cocktails like el Jimador Margarita, a spicy concoction with fresh corn juice and pineapple and habanero infused simple syrup, the recipe for which you’ll find here if you want to celebrate at home. If you want more margarita recommendations, you can find some of our favorite local picks here.
