Keepin’ on with the Keepin’ on

For nearly every possible activity or diversion you could enjoy this week, there’s an option that also gives to Sandy relief efforts. Feeling peckish for some BBQ or just looking to celebrate the end of your hump day? Mable’s Smokehouse in Williamsburg is donating 20% of all their proceeds on Wednesday, 11/28 to ReStore Red Hook. Still resenting how you missed out on that last slice of Thanksgiving pie? Get a pumpkin cheesecake from any Junior’s location and they’ll re-gift $5 of your dollars back to the community so you can forget all about that lame pie. Daydream about lost hours spent biking along the waterfront, but not ready to buy that cool hipster bike you secretly covet? Rent one from Rolling Orange for a day to live the dream without the commitment, and they’ll also kick back $5 to Brooklyn recovery efforts. Edible Brooklyn and Brooklyn Brewery are teaming up for their How to Holiday event on Monday, 12/3, which for just $5 will provides lessons on roasting turkeys, making pies and selecting wines. All proceeds from the night to the Brooklyn Recovery Fund.  Finally, if you missed out on any of the recent benefits due to other commitments or their just plain selling out, you or your business can call up TrivWorks (the company that puts on a lot of the different trivia nights here in Brooklyn) and book them for your own mini-Sandy benefit, since they’ve pledged to donate 50% of the fees for every holiday party they do to the Sandy relief charity of their client’s choice.
