See Tunde from TV on the Radio and Help PS 84 Build a Hydroponic Rooftop Garden

Sometimes it really helps to have a famous musician on the PTA. Tunde Adebimpe, lead singer of TV on the Radio and a parent at PS 84 in Williamsburg, is part of an awesome sound, light and sculpture installation/performance on December 15 that will raise funds for PS 84’s Rooftop Greenhouse Project. This is no ordinary rooftop garden, mind you. This is rooftop greenhouse classroom where kids will actually be able to sit, learn, grow food, and do a lot of other hands-on agricultural things.

At the fundraiser performance, titled “OÍDO,” you’ll see Tunde and musician Bart Higgins play sculptural works created by internationally acclaimed sculptor and light artist Ivan Navarro and artist Courtney Smith, inside Saint Peter and Paul Theater at 288 Berry Street. Tickets are $60 for the concert and afterparty, or just $20 for the afterparty, on sale here.
