Dance on Mable’s Tables

By

Fat Tuesday is one last night of celebration, excess and gluttony before Lent begins. If you’re giving up pork, booze or the pleasures of Cajun music for Lent, make your way to Mable’s Smokehouse where you can gorge on all three from 7pm until 11pm. Mable’s (which just started serving lunch this week) will add some Louisiana specialties like crawfish etoufee, seafood gumbo and andouie sausage to their menu for the evening. Don’t worry though, you can still order their pulled pork or beef brisket, and with veggie sloppy joes, borracho beans and mac ‘n’ cheese, this might just be the most vegetarian friendly BBQ place in the world. The Catahoula Cajun Band will keep the soundtrack south of the Mason Dixon and inspire some in-between-table toe tapping.
