Such Great Heights

This maybe isn’t the coolest thing I’ve ever admitted, but when I was seventeen, the Postal Service’s first (and only) album, Give Up, was the soundtrack to numerous late-night drives while I was mooning over the skinny bassist in our high school’s one cool band. This April marks ten years (!!!) since the record’s release, and to mark the auspicious occasion, Give Up is being re-released with two new songs, remixes, covers, and more. The Postal Service will also be bringing their indie/electropop tunes on tour to support the album, including a date at the Barclays Center on June 14th. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10am. If a moony-eyed Ben Gibbard isn’t your thing, Beyonce announced dates for her world tour coming off of her Super Bowl-breaking performance; the Mrs. Carter Show comes to the Barclays Center on August 3rd, with tickets on sale on Monday at 10am. And if you missed out on the Breeders tix at the Bell House that we told you about last week, you’ve got a second chance this Friday at noon—they’ll be playing Webster Hall on May 6th. –C.A.
