As far as comedy goes, Brooklyn has pretty much everything. With a slew of the borough’s best venues offering a different flavor of funny every night of the week, to big names like John Hodgman and Mike Birgbiglia filming their specials (and movies) here, to the up-and-coming talent at open mics, there’s not a whole lot left to ask for–except maybe our own comedy festival. One and done, as this week marks the first ever Brooklyn Comedy Festival, happening all over Williamsburg, with new people and punch lines every night from now ’til Aug. 24. There’s a wide range of events and lots of great local talent, so check out the schedule and find something to laugh about.
