This summer we lined up a giveaway that was so awesome, we really wish we could have claimed it for ourselves—a trip to Montreal for two people, round trip airfare, hotel, and dinner included.
Porter Airlines provided the tickets, Tourisme Montréal arranged for the hotel and gave away a Sweet Deal booklet redeemable for $500 to spend on local attractions, and Joe Beef put $200 toward a fabulous meal.
When we emailed our random winner, Caitlin Brooks, we had no idea what a great prize this would be for her, personally. Here’s what she wrote us upon her return:

I can’t thank you enough for this amazing prize. Montreal is such an amazing city, and even though the weather was rainy most of the weekend, everyone that we met was so warm and friendly. I won this trip as I was breaking up with a guy, so I took my friend and we had an amazing girls’ weekend! Perfect weekend trip.
The hotel [Le Place d’Armes, a boutique hotel in Old Montreal right across from the Notre-Dame Basilica], was beautiful, and in an amazing location. We found our way around pretty quickly, and navigated our way around with out any problems. I have to say, Montreal’s metro is infinitely cleaner than NYC’s! No trash, no rats. Unbelievable.
Joe Beef was beyond spectacular. From the moment we arrived we were greeted and congratulated for our awesome prize. The staff took such great care of us, and the food was phenomenal. We could barely walk out of there we were so full! I attached a photo from our meal, we were happy campers!
This was truly an amazing treat for me and I’m so thankful!
