The weather outside was most definitely frightful over the past few days, and we’re entering the time of year when it takes a pretty damn good reason for us to willingly venture out into conditions even our iPhone weather app is having a hard time accurately describing. The happy hour at Littleneck is just the kind of incentive we need to layer up and face the frozen tundra though. In addition to new cocktails–including something called a Twombly Fizz–the New-England style seafood spot offers $1 oysters from 5-7pm on weekdays (except Tuesday). Its raw bar rotates bivalves from both the East and West Coasts year round, but you can always expect something fresh and briny no matter the season. You don’t even have to brave much of the cold to get there–it’s around the corner from the R train stop at Union Street, making it a perfect spot to spend your Thirsty Thursday.
