If you’ve ever been out to dinner with a teacher, particularly a New York City public school teacher, then you know that their hours in the classroom are storytelling gold, from unruly students to irascible administrators. The long-form fans at Narratively produce a variety of stories around a theme each week, and for their upcoming Teachers and Students series they’re hosting a storytelling event starring eight tellers of tales from both sides of the chalkboard. The event is free, at the Made in NY, IFP Media Center in DUMBO, from 5-6:30pm; register to let them know you’re coming, polished apple in hand.
