Food Festivals for a Cause

On Saturday, go on a grazing tour beginning at Tastes of Brooklyn at Borough Hall, a fair from 11:30am -3pm featuring food from Saul, Egg, Fort Reno/Palo Santo, Locanda Vini e Olii, Lunetta, and more. The tastings start at $10 for 2, and the proceeds support Seeds in the Middle, a non-profit that promotes healthy eating, fitness and the arts among Brooklyn students. Then head to Smith St. between Atlantic and Carroll for the Festival Des Soupes, a benefit for the Culinary Arts program at the School For International Studies and a chance to sample the finest chowders, bisques and broths from Jakewalk, Oaxaca, Coco Roco, Bar Tabac, Seersucker, Smith Canteen, and others, from 1 to 4pm. Pricing starts at $5 for 5 small cups, and tickets are available the day of at the corners of Smith and Butler, President and Bergen.
