Green Building Gastronomy

By

Tis the season to be jealous of suburban types with yards who get to BBQ in the backyard every weekend. Here in Brooklyn though, you can enjoy the pleasures of the picnic while raising money for a good cause. Tonight the Gowanus Canal Conservancy’s Spring Forward fundraiser at the beautiful Green Building will satisfy all your grilled meat needs with loads of brisket, kielbasa, jerk chicken, and ribs from local restaurants like applewood, Lot2 and Mile End. With the brew experts from Beer Table manning the bar and live music from Dawn Landes, The Jack Grace Band, and Diamond Doves, this is a far cry from your average weeknight dinner. Best of all, the proceeds from the $55 tickets (just $20 for kids), available at the door tonight starting at 6:30pm, go to support some great programs that are helping to clean up the canal. Awesome BBQ, live entertainment, an important cause, and no scraping gunk off the grill—why do people live in the ‘burbs again?
