Lost Youth

PARK SLOPE Rick Moody, the author best-known for his mid-90s book The Ice Storm, will be appearing at a slightly more unusual venue than a bookstore this weekend. On Saturday at 5pm, he’ll be celebrating the release of his first solo record at Barbès (which we recently profiled here). The Darkness is Good features songs that come directly from the heritage of American folk; Moody will be performing songs from the record, as well as playing a few songs alongside folk musician Hannah Marcus. The album is the first release from the endearingly-named Dainty Rubbish Music, who will also be celebrating their debut.
