Drink, Shop, Eat & Celebrate 3 Years of BB on Franklin St.

Update: The most detailed information on the crawl is here>>. Also, you can follow us @brooklynbased for updates

If you combined a block party, scavenger hunt, flash sale, and pub crawl into one, it would look something like The Total Franklin Street Immersion.

From noon to 7 pm this Saturday, we asked 20 bars, shops, and restaurants along Franklin Street in Greenpoint to offer you serious deals, starting with beer courtesy of Brooklyn Brewery.

Three bars will be pouring complimentary half pints of Brooklyn Brewery’s seasonal and special brews: Brooklyner Weisse at The Diamond, East India Pale Ale at Black Rabbit, and Summer Ale at t.b.d. There’ll be drink specials on tap at Van Gogh’s Radio Lounge and Pencil Factory Bar too.

As you make your way (or stumble) from one bar to the next, nearly every shop along and near Franklin will be discounting their entire store, or select items, 10-30%. You can add to your wine collection at Dandelion Wine and your music collection at Permanent Records, get a summer read at WORD (everything’s 20% off!), find quirky, vintage housewares at Kill Devil Hill and Le Grenier, and build your summer wardrobe at cool boutiques like Alter (Men’s and Women’s), DalagaIn God We Trust, Pip-Squeak Chapeau, Petit Boudoir, and Hayden-Harnett.

When you’re ready for some sustenance, find specials at Anella ($5 Bloody Marys during brunch and $10 wine-and-crostini paring at dinner); the newly Korean-themed Mrs. Kim’s, formerly The River Barrel (two pork buns for $5); and the just-opened Le Gamin (moules mariniere for $8 and another special to come). The brand-new coal-oven pizzeria Paulie Gee’s (“Brian De Parma” 12-inch pie for $10) is opening at noon for take out, and Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream will be vending $3 scoops just outside. Both make a perfect to-go combo for Transmitter Park at the end of Greenpoint Ave.

The catch? You need a free TFSI card–created by the talented Greenpoint designer Meryl Friedman–to redeem the beers and the deals. As you drink, eat and shop, you’ll get a box on the card checked off. The first 100 to fill their cards wins a tote filled with loot from local stores. We’ll also be giving away a bottle of Brooklyn Brewery Sorachi Ace. (Details on when and where to get the cards, and how to win, here>>. RSVP at rsvp@brooklynbased.com so we can send you an update if needed.)

We hope the Immersion will inspire you to get to know Greenpoint through one of its coolest streets, and shop locally while under the influence. And we invite you to stay for the after party from 6-8 at t.b.d, or come out especially for it (no card needed!). Their backyard grill will be fired up and we’ll be passing out free Robicelli’s cupcakes and pouring $3 pints of Brooklyn Brewery Summer Ale to celebrate three years of Brooklyn Based. So come on down and clink cups with us!
