All you lit lovers have probably scoured the schedule for The Brooklyn Book Festival and mapped out the readings and panels you’ll be going to. If not, you need a plan of attack. Every event is free, but the big draws (like Paul Auster + John Ashbery) are ticketed, which means you need to get to Borough Hall Plaza over an hour before the panel begins, look for an info booth, line up and get a ticket. Personally, we’re stoked to see Gary Shteyngart, and to check out the Children’s Area now that one of us has a kid old enough to enjoy such things. It’s also a great time to stock up on books (take advantage of our amazing deal from Harper Perennial and note that the panel with Mary Gaitskill, Ben Greenman and Simon Van Booy is one of those ticketed panels). And be sure to check out the Bookend events that round out the festival.
