CITYWIDE: Once again, it’s time for one of our favorite yearly events in the city, Open House New York. All weekend, diverse locales across the five boroughs throw open their doors for tours, open studios, site-specific performances, and talks. As always, most of the coolest places are in Brooklyn (though we might be biased). A tour of the beautiful Victorian-era Green-Wood Cemetery is a perfect pre-Halloween treat only made better by the return of Angels and Accordions, a dance/accordion site-specific performance that will take place on Saturday at 12:30pm and 4pm; popular cultural mainstays like BAM, 3rd Ward, and the Brooklyn Lyceum will also be hosting tours and open studio along with unusual options like a tour of the digester eggs at Newtown Creek. Many tours are full, so be sure to check out the RSVP instructions for each event on Open House New York’s site so you don’t miss out on other sites.
