Street Art in the Park

By

BUSHWICK Sometimes, at the intersection of art and public good there can be found something that perfectly fulfills both the mission of aesthetics and social value. Saturday’s All City Street Art Block Party marks one of those times – the event, which at first glance looks like your typical party for those of an artistic bent, is also part of Factory Fresh’s effort to create a community park on a dilapidated street in Bushwick. From 2pm, street artists including Skewville, Imminent Disaster, and Gaia will be painting live, and beer and tacos from Calexico will be available; at 7pm, UK collective Burning Candy will be premiering their documentary film Dots, which follows members of the crew as they travel to learn about the links between their art and that of other cultures.
