Schoolboy Stories

GREENPOINT Paul Murray’s 2010 Booker-longlisted novel, Skippy Dies, manages to take a plot that can initially be summed up by the two-word title and expands it to a sprawling 600-page novel encompassing Irish schoolboys, death, parallel dimensions, and doughnuts, among a number of other topics. On Sunday night, the Irish author will be making a rare New York appearance at WORD accompanied by Edward Champion, a Brooklyn writer and host of the literary podcast The Bat Segundo Show. Champion’s interview of Murray will be followed by a reading and signing.
