FORT GREENE Even though women are playing an increasingly visible role in American politics, sometimes it seems like women’s rights are taking a backseat to other issues on the national stage. On Thursday night at Greenlight Bookstore, Gail Collins, New York Times columnist and author of When Everything Changed: The Amazing Journey of American Women from 1960 to the Present, and Rebecca Traister, Salon senior writer and author of Big Girls Don’t Cry: Hillary Clinton, Sarah Palin, Michelle Obama, and the Year That Changed Everything, discuss the changing political climate and the gains that women have made over the past several decades, as well as the challenges to equality that remain.
