DITMAS PARK Flower shop-cum-bar Sycamore examines a different kind of plant at Monday’s whiskey tasting, focusing on rye whiskey, made primarily with the eponymous grass/cereal grain. The first of their five-part whiskey tasting series covered Irish whiskey; this month, America and Canada face off, with Canadian Club, Forty Creek Barrel Select, Black Velvet, Russell’s Reserve, (ri)1, and Templeton all represented. Southern Wine and Spirits’ Dave Mahler will be leading the tasting, and the $25 admission also includes complimentary snacks.
