Diverse Dancing

By

GOWANUS Whether your dancing tastes run more towards Justice or Nirvana, the Bell House has got you covered this week. On Thursday, UK electro-rockers Does It Offend You, Yeah? are heading up a bill that also includes Brummie synth act Deluka and Brooklynite electro-poppers Infernal Devices. Does It Offend You, Yeah? first made it in 2008, when they were named a Rolling Stone breaking artist and played gigs known for stage-diving and broken instruments. On their final tour date that year, lead singer James Rushent broke his leg at the end of the show (but was hardcore enough to finish the encore.) Expect similar antics on Thursday. DJ Mister Disco from the Bell House’s Happy House indie/electro night will also be providing a good workout with sets before, between, and after the bands. Two days later, flannel will replace neon at the Bell House with My So Called Prom, a worthy sequel to 2009’s Pretty in Pink 80s-themed prom. The performance space of the grunge-themed dream prom will feature the 90210-influenced Bayside Tigers playing two grunge-only cover sets, and DJ irockiroll; in the front lounge, DJ Mr. F will be spinning classic 90s pop and hip-hop.
