Usually, trumpet and violin appear in traditional settings like orchestras (or pop-punk bands.) On Thursday at Sycamore, the two classic instruments will be joined by an ultramodern one – the laptop. Peter Evans (trumpet), Jim Altieri (violin), and Sam Pluta (laptop) are holding a release party for their album Sum and Difference at the flower shop/bar; the album features improvised electronic-tinged compositions for the three instruments and comes free with the $10 admission. The evening also features special guests Tom Blancarte and Dan Peck, who will be performing as a bass/tuba duo.
