This year, celebrate St. Patrick’s Day the right way – without the green beer. In Park Slope, Union Hall is holding a special edition of their free Karaoke Killed the Cat party, definitely featuring Irish drink specials and likely including off-tune renditions of Pogues songs; also in the neighborhood, the newly reopened Freddy’s will be playing host to bar bands like the Telephones. Further north, party people MeanRed will be taking over Public Assembly with a $20 all-you-can-drink “alcoholiday,” and, in a nod to the occasion, the City Reliquary will be selling whiskey-spiked cider at their Open Mic Show and Tell. Finally, down in Windsor Terrace, the Double Windsor is celebrating with Irish food and beer, Jameson, and, perhaps our favorite homage to the holiday, Robicelli’s “Irish car bomb” cupcakes with Guinness cake, Jameson ganache, and Bailey’s buttercream.
