Well before cheesy motivational prints appeared in corporate offices everywhere, Mather and Company were producing posters in the 1920s to incentivize employees in factories and businesses across America, using silly slogans like “Be a Tight Wad! Own Something!” The posters have since gained a following among designers and curators, with the help of the DeFilippo family, who owns the complete collection of posters made between 1924 and 1925. They’re showing over a dozen of them in a loft at 163 Carlton Ave., #1B, from 6-9 pm on Saturday with free wine and music. RSVP here.
