Everyone’s always complaining about what’s wrong with the world, but few people actually take the time to think about how to make it better. Enter the Utopianist, the new blog cofounded by BB pal and former writer Keith Wagstaff. The site highlights a utopian viewpoint on topics as diverse as technology, graffiti, politics, and science fiction, and features music and other pop-culture necessities in its Capitalist Jukebox section. Tonight at Veronica People’s Club, the editors, contributors, and myriad friends will be raising a glass to toast the new site. With an open bar sponsored by Sixpoint for the first half hour, a DJ set from Fischerspooner’s Le Chev, and a positive-thinking group of people, it’s the closest to a utopia we can get – for now, at least.
