Murrow’s Boys were the CBS broadcast journalists who worked with Edward R. Murrow, the man most know today by his takedown of Senator McCarthy. Before that, Murrow and his fellow correspondents were covering WWII in a way that set the bar for broadcast journalism, and after the war Murrow continued to inspire and hire greats such as Walter Cronkite and Daniel Schorr. The Irondale Ensemble takes a look at these men (and one woman) with its new “devised theater piece,” Murrow’s Boys, which uses the words and actions of these journos to examine how we gather news today and why it still matters. Opening night sold out, but tickets ($35) are available for remaining shows through May 28.
