This weekend Jalopy Theatre hosts the Bayou n’ Brooklyn Music Festival, the borough’s first Cajun and Zydeco festival produced by Red Hook Fiddler Deborah Monlux. Along with workshops in Cajun fiddle, Lead Belly Guitar and more, the festival is filled with dance-hall flavor bands, Cajun folk, Louisiana and New Orleans-style Blues, and Cajun community jams. A Gumbo dinner on Saturday at 7:30 kicks off an epic last night with renowned Cajun accordion player Jesse Lége and Roots-Zydeco band, Zydegroove. Tickets are $12 advance/$15 at the door (call 718.395.3214 to purchase). The full line up is at cajuntalk.us; official festival website is bayou-n-brooklyn.com.
