This week in music:
The Afro-Punk festival announced its 2011 line-up. Artists include Janelle Monae, Cee-Lo Green, Fishbone, Santigold and Cerebral Ballzy. The concert will take place Commodore Barry Park on August 27 and 28. It’s free, and details are at the Afro-Punk website.
Ted Leo and the Pharmacists will kick off the Village Voice’s new 4Knots Music Festival with a free show at South Street Seaport on July 9 at 6 p.m. It may not be in Brooklyn, but it’s good music for free.
Brooklyn duo Cults have been creating a lot of buzz since their EP “Go Outside” dropped, and their self-titled debut album will be out soon — you can stream their record over at NPR. They play the Music Hall of Williamsburg June 9.
The Seaside Summer Concert Series will be moving. The event, formerly held at Asser Levy/Seaside Park, will be moving to West 21st Street in Coney Island, according to the New York Times. This year’s line-up is still forthcoming.
