Coney on Fire

By

To celebrate the centennial of the burning of Dreamland–the Coney Island park that went up in smoke in 1911–the Coney Island Museum will unveil the latest piece of their current Spectacularium exhibit tonight. The cosmorama, a 360-degree mural that depicts the fire through pictures, sound and light, is based upon Coney’s long-but-pretty-much forgotten history of disaster spectacles. Join the curators and artists who created it at the unveiling for complimentary Hendrick’s Gin cocktails, puppetry, sword-swallowing, vintage Coney flicks, burlesque and more oddball fun. Tickets are $25 at the door and online.
