The streak of awesome Celebrate Brooklyn concerts continues this Friday with a promising trio of acts that meet at the intersection point of folk, electronic, and low-key vibes. The Books, nearly elder statesmen after over a decade putting out music in New York, headline the evening; first making it big with their 2003 record The Lemon of Pink, the band relies on a hybrid of acoustic instruments and quirky samples to create sound collages. They’ll be preceded by Junip, the Swedish band featuring “Heartbeats” cover artist and successful solo musician in his own right José González, as well as Thomas Bartlett’s piano-focused Doveman. Afterwards, head over to the Bell House for a free afterparty featuring the DJ stylings of González himself.
