Rep Brooklyn at this week’s Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival. For the seventh year running, the six-day festival has brought the best beats to various venues throughout the borough. This year, highlights include Monday night’s Show & Prove Super Bowl at Brooklyn Bowl, featuring top independent hip-hop artists as they battle it out for a chance to open at Saturday’s concert in Brooklyn Bridge Plaza headlined by Q-Tip; Tuesday night’s “Under the Influence” art-and-book night at powerHouse Arena, celebrating the release of Back in the Days Remix: The 10th Anniversary Edition with a guest DJ, live music, and a group art show; and Thursday’s turntable-centric Salute the DJ at the Music Hall of Williamsburg.
