Wonderdonk

By

Wonderdonk, the “bike-in” movie theater series set to begin last Friday, rainchecked its debut for this Friday night. The collaboration between 2 (w)heels and Cinebeasts kicks off its two-wheeled film series with a cult classic starring the coolest red bike in Hollywood history, Pee Wee’s Big Adventure. It’s screened on the lawn of the Onderdonk house–the oldest Colonial Dutch house in New York City, profiled in our round up of historic sites–and starts with another magical classic, The Red Balloon. There’s a $7 suggested donation (kids are free), you can bring food or purchase it from vendors including Cafe Ghia, Barcey’s coffee and others. Also on site will be a Bushwick Print Lab, which will be creating live silkscreen prints–bicycle-themed we suspect–for moviegoers for $5 per image on whatever garments you provide, though you can buy blank shirts in assorted colors and sizes for $5 each. Details here.
