Creative Campout

By

The Wassaic Project–an artist-run arts organization housed in an old mill and livestock-auction barn in Wassaic, NY–hosts its annual, free summer festival this weekend, featuring over 100 visual and performance artists and musicians, many hailing from Brooklyn. Guests can camp on the bucolic property–a two to three hour trip upstate by car or Metro North–all weekend for $40 in advance, and hear bands like Diamond Doves (comprised of Elvis Perkins’ backing band) and experimental instrumentalists Delicate Steve (which opens for Ra Ra Riot Friday night), see dance performances, art, animated shorts, cult classics and more. Kids are welcome, dogs are not.
