On the second Sunday of every (summer) month, The Desk Set has teamed up with Pete’s Candy Store to throw a series of “Books-B-Qs” that benefit rad literary groups like Urban Librarians Unite, the beneficiary of this Sunday’s event from 4 to 8 pm. A $10 donation will net you a plate of grilled and homemade grub (burgers, dogs, veggie burgers, salads, sides and dessert) and help ULU support underfunded NYC libraries. There’ll be drink specials, too, and raffles for donated gifts from the quirky Vermont Country Store.
