Pickle Pig Out


Do you love pickles? Like, REALLY love pickles? If so, sign up now for Saturday’s Second Annual Whiskey Sour Pickle Eating Contest, put together by Brooklyn Brine and the Village Voice. Sign-ups will be taking place until 7pm on Saturday at Black Rabbit; the main event will begin an hour later. Whoever manages to stuff the largest number of the whiskey-brined gherkins into their gullet in five minutes will get $100. If you prefer your pickle consumption to be a bit less rushed, there will be plenty of other ways to get your hands on pickle-themed treats, like picklebacks served up by Finger Lakes Distilling Co (whose rye is what’s used in the whiskey sour pickles), fried pickles, and regular old pickles.
