High on the Hog

To be honest, an event called Pig Island at Governors Island on a beautiful fall weekend kind of sells itself, but here are the details anyway: the annual porcine-centric food event returns on Saturday from 11:30am-5pm with 80 locally-sourced pigs prepared by chefs from 20 top NYC restaurants, including Brooklyn’s own Palo Santo, Egg, Hecho en Dumbo, and Buttermilk Channel. Wash down your delicious meal with craft beer and local wine, and be sure to check out the scheduled cooking demonstrations and live bluegrass performances. General admission tickets are $70 apiece, but a splurge is probably in order for a day like this!

I kinda think the price stinks it really sets it up so that only a a certain socio-economic group of people can attend, not cool, especially in a public park.
