The Case of the Brooklyn Premieres

By

This week, Bored to Death, that HBO comedy that manages to be more real regarding life in Brooklyn than Real World: Brooklyn ever managed, returns to the small screen — but if you’d prefer to catch the exploits of the fictionalized Jonathan Ames, George, and Ray in a more raucous environment, there are two chances to do so. First, four days before the official premiere, Brooklyn Bowl is holding a special screening event with a custom ball giveaway, a rumored appearance by the real Jonathan Ames, and two musical sets by indie-popsters Miniature Tigers and reggae artist Sean Bones. On Monday, the night of the on-air premiere, the show’s creator and namesake Jonathan Ames will be hosting a “bizarro” premiere party at BookCourt, which has itself been home to a Bored to Death shoot.
