The Greenpoint Film Festival, which consists of four days of screenings and related events, kicks off on Thursday night at Broadway Stages with the 8pm world premiere of “My Mars Bar Movie,” a full-length documentary by filmmaker Jonas Mekas about the legendary (and recently shuttered) watering hole in the East Village that exemplified the dive bar. Other festival highlights include screenings of various commercials and short films by David Lynch, a costume party on Saturday night, and a brunch with food from local restaurants on Sunday morning.
