From Stardust to Sentience

Back in ‘07/’08, when they were just starting out, High Places stole the show with their inventive, multilayered, ethereal-yet-danceable music at a number of Brooklyn’s top DIY venues. Then, the duo packed their banjos, rattles, and kalimbas and moved to Los Angeles, meaning that their gigs in Brooklyn became few and far between. Mark your calendar for this Friday, when they’ll be making a triumphant return to Glasslands along with openers Test House in the midst of an international tour. Make sure to catch them this week, because it may well be your last chance to admire singer Mary Pearson and get down to the truly fantastic duo before they head off to Europe for the rest of the year. If you’ve got the time, make the night a doubleheader and get tix to see local phenoms Small Black for Glasslands’ late show, starting right after High Places at 11:30pm.
