Brian LaRossa and Allie Rex’s 1 + 1 = 11 exhibition at Like the Spice Gallery is coming to a close this Sunday, so grab a chance to see it before it’s over. 1 + 1 = 11 is an installation that showcases their 13-year-old artistic partnership, working with the concept of time, namely its ineffability and contrariness. Every element of the show represents and reinterprets the different elements and aspects of time, questioning its chronology, finality, and sequential nature. The art for the show (including all of Rex’s work and LaRossa’s photo series of the gallery itself) is site-specific, so once it’s finished on Sunday, like the inescapable passing of each fleeting second, it really will be done. They’re open Wednesday-Sunday 12pm-7pm, and Monday by appointment.
