Christmas Shopping for the Weird

By

If your taste in holiday décor runs less papier-mache Santa, more bat skull, we have got the holiday craft fair for you. This weekend, Morbid Anatomy, a Gowanus-based library featuring a private collection of jarred specimens, taxidermy, and anatomical diagrams, and its next-door lecture/art space Obsveratory, are hosting their second annual holiday fair from noon to 6pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Head on over to find truly one-of-a-kind presents for all the oddballs in your life, yourself included.  The wares for sale run the gamut from unusual to downright macabre, and include steampunk jewelry, miniature tableaux of anthropomorphized insects (think beetles playing tiny pianos), and crocheted skulls. Admission is free and includes Brooklyn Brewery beer, so don’t miss the chance to ensure that your special someone finds a “wet specimen” under the tree this year.
