We Heart JT

If you love good dance parties in NYC, it’s likely that you’ve danced to beats spun by Jonathan Toubin, whose Soul Clap and Dance-Off party has been revolutionizing soul music parties since its inception. After the popular DJ was critically injured in a freak accident while in Portland for a show, the music community immediately pulled together, organizing benefits to help him out. This Friday, Brooklyn Bowl is hosting a star-studded fundraiser, featuring acts like Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Tunde Adebimpe’s Stabbing Eastward, as well as a full night of DJs. The minimum donation is $25 in advance, or $35 the day of the show – all proceeds will go towards helping Jonathan out with medical bills, so we suggest that you don’t skimp. On Saturday, this week’s Soul Clap at Glasslands has been turned into a benefit for Jonathan, with local bands like Xray Eyeballs and Stalkers.
