Drinks, Dessert and Dreams

By

Is there anything better than books, booze and brownies? Quitting your job to pursue your dreams, maybe. And that’s just what authors Gwen Cooper (Homer’s Odyssey), Kate Rockland (150 Pounds) and Gillian Telling (Dirty Girls) did. Tuesday night at WORD, the three will discuss the transition from quitting their day jobs at Rolling Stone to becoming successful published writers. And, as promised, there will be booze, brownies and refreshments (provided by The Naked Grape and Hot Blondies Bakery) available. As if that’s not enough, there will also be a musical performance by Brooklyn band Amy Klein and the Blue Star Band (you may already know Amy Klein as the guitarist/violinist of Titus Andronicus.) You can purchase books by all three authors at the event, and Cooper will donate all royalties on sales of Homer’s Odyssey to the Picasso Veterinary FundRSVP here.
