In celebration of the anniversary of The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine (released 1-16-1969), Union Hall is throwing a Beatles Sing-Along. Fab Four festivities include a costume contest (dress as your favorite Beatle!) and themed drinks like the Sgt. Pepper and Rocky Raccoon. The main event is the video sing-along, which includes movie clips and live performances. And even though it’s the Yellow Submarine anniversary, songs from other albums and solo material from John and Paul will be included in the mix. Just don’t butcher “Imagine” like Cee Lo Green, or you’re likely to be booed off-stage. There’s no mention of solo George songs so here’s a link to a video here for diehard George fans–sing your hearts out! The event is only $8, which includes a chance to win free drinks, tickets to shows and Beatles memorabilia.
