Union Pool is so much more than a crowded room with great DJs, fantastic bartenders, an awesome taco truck, a fire pit, and an excellent place to pick up a one-night stand. On the last day of January, to end the holiday season, the bar is throwing the Union Pool Winter Charity Extravaganza. All proceeds from the night go to Seamen’s Society For Children and Families (a non-profit, full-service child welfare agency). Aside from the usual fun, there will be raffles for local businesses, a photo booth, baked goods, eight bands and a DJ. If you can’t make it on Tuesday, get your do-gooder self to Union Pool soon–for the rest of the month, the bar is registered with Food Bank as a donation spot for canned goods (your donation earns you a nice can of ice-cold beer).
