A Plethora of Poetic Puppetry

By

If puppets come in only second to clowns as the go-to stock characters in the Wide Awake Repertory of Your Nightmares Theater, you should check out the AlphabetArts’ Puppets and Poets event at BAX this weekend. It may be therapeutic for you and redemptive for muppets everywhere. Amidst the soothing backdrop of musicians and poets performing spoken word and song, you’ll learn how puppetry is one of the oldest art forms in the world, long before Howdy Doody hijacked the genre. The night also features an awesome Dolly Parton cover band Doll Parts and, believe it or not, the Occupy Wall Street Puppet Guild. Tickets are $10 and available here or at the door.
